City court accepts closure report against six people
New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) A city court has accepted the closure report against six people, including two from the Protection of Emigration (PoE) department, in connection with Emigration clearance.
After hearing arguments of both the prosecution and the defence, Special Judge I K Kochchar, accepted on Tuesday the closure report against Ashwini Kumar, Niranjan Choudhury (PoE), Sunil Kushwaha, Mohammad Sharif, Promila and Maqsood Hassan Khan.
''Since there are no allegations against the accused, the closure report, filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been accepted,'' Ms Kochchar said in her order.
All of them were booked under Sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 13 (1) (d), 13 (2) and 24 (Contravention of Emigration Act) of the Emigration Act, 1983.
On September 3, 2003, Niranjan Choudhury, the then PoE-II, in connivance with some recruiting agent, had illegally issued emigration clearance to Mohammad Sharif, a resident of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh for Kuwait on the basis of forged documents.
Similarly, Ashwini Kumar in connivance with some private people had illegally issued emigration clearance to Promila.
