CBI court convicts former animal husbadry officer
Ranchi, Apr 20 (UNI) A CBI special court today convicted former animal hubandry department officer B N Sharma of Chaibasa in connection with the multi-crore Bihar fodder scam and awarded five-year regorious imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs five lakh.
In default of payment of fine he would have to undergo for another one year imprisonment.
CBI judge Satish Chandra Singh passed the order while delivering the judgement of case no rc1a/99. The court found him guilty under disproportionate of asset. However, the court acquited seven of his family members.
The CBI has charged Sharma with withdrawing Rs 2,98,00,000 from Chaibasa treasury on a fake allotment letter.
