Bhubaneswar, Apr 19 (UNI) Vedant Resources Plc Chairman Anil Agarwal today made a presentation before Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to set up a world class multi disciplinary university with a vision to develop education and research infrastructure in the country.

He submitted the presentation yesterday.

Mr Agarwal had already submitted his presentations before the governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Gujrat and Uttaranchal for setting up of such a university.

The university, he said would have a student strength of 25,000 students in the first phase, which would increase to one lakh in the long run.

The university would be a fully autonomous body, providing quality education through multi disciplinary curriculum while focusing on research activities.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik later told newpersons that the Vedant Resources had sought 5000 acres of land for setting up of the university with proper communication facilities.

He said he had directed the Chief Secretary to identify the land for the purpose and submit a report within a week so that the proposal could be initiated.
