Uma granted bail

Bhopal, Apr 19 (UNI) Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti was today granted bail by a local court in a defamation suit filed by a media group.

Ms Bharti, who appeared before Chief Judicial Magistrate Anil Kumar Gupta's court, was given bail on a personal bond of Rs 3,000.

Ms Bharti's counsel Harish Mehta and the concerned media group's counsel Sandeep Gupta and Kirti Gupta were also present.

The defamation suit had been filed about a year ago. The court had issued notices to Ms Bharti on several occasions directing her to appear personally.
