Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) New-generation private sector banking major ICICI Bank has launched a unique initiative to introduce banking to children in collaboration with Cartoon Network. The initiative christened Young Stars Account has the toon stars Tom&Jerry as its brand ambassadors.

Launching the Young Stars Account here today, ICICI Bank Executive Director Chanda Kochar said, ''this pioneering product from ICICI Bank initiates children to the world of banking and finances. With this product, the entire family is involved with the bank and while parents can monitor their child's expenses, children learn to manage their expenses themselves.'' Young Stars Account is a unique savings account tailored to suit the banking requirements of children and allows them, up to the age of 18, to learn and manage their finances, while the account is operated and monitored completely by their parents.

''ICICI Bank has made the entire banking experience exciting by offering interesting facilities including a special recurring deposit, free international debit card and free Internet banking,'' said Ms Kochar.

The account also provides facilities that only parents can access, such as online opening of fixed deposit, recurring deposit and funds transfer from parent to child's account, she said.

Cartoon Network Enterprises-India and South Asia Director Jiggy George interacting with journalists, said that the popular Cartoon Network toon stars, Tom&Jerry, will help make this innovative pioneering initiative from ICICI Bank even more attractive.
