Sharath Kamal, Mouma Das to lead Indian challenge in Germany

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Commonwealth Games individual gold medallist Achanta Sharath Kamal will lead the challenge in the men's competition, while national champion Mouma Das will spearhead the women's campaign at the Liebherr World Table Tennis Championships to be held in Bremen, Germany from April 24 to May 1.

The men's team will play in division II, group H, which also includes US, Singapore, Bulgaria, Finland and Turkey and the women's team has been placed in division I, after a gap of 20 years. The team has a tough group with World Champions China, Romania, Belarus, Czechoslovakia and Serbia.

The two teams will arrive here on April 22 after training at a preparatory camp in Patiala and leave the next day to participate in the championships.

In the last edition of the event in Doha, the men's team had finished 27th and the women's team signed off at the 27th spot.
