Power workers to protest atrocities of employers
Patna, Apr 19 (UNI) Kamani Employees Union (KEU) will take out a procession from Muzaffarpur to Patna tomorrow to highlight the problems of the transmission line workers.
KEU has already placed a charter of demands before Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seeking his intervention for resolving the problems.
Union General Secretary C D Sinha said several hundreds of workers from nine districts would join the procession.
''We are concerned about the security of the workers, '' Mr Sinha added.
He claimed that 750 construction workers had been illegally terminated or dismissed.
'' Every office bearer of this union, who were employees of the company, had been dismissed,'' he said.
KEU was agitating against the miserable working conditions of the casual workers.
The union had raised te issue of non-payment of minimum wages, provident fund, bonus and other benefits,'' Mr Sinha informed.
