Patil regrets delay in tabling AG's opinion on funds diversion
Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Finance Minister Jayant Patil today expressed regret over the delay in tabling the Advocate General's opinion on the diversion of funds from one region of the state to another.
The issue was raised by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari and B T Deshmukh (ind) who sought to know as to why the opinion, which was to be tabled on Monday, had not been tabled so far.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil said the opinion of the Advocate General would be tabled on the floor of the House on April 21 --- the last day of the Budget Session.
However Mr Deshmukh insisted that the Government should state the reasons for the delay.
Expressing regret over the delay, Mr Patil said the AG's opinion on the issue was submitted to the Government today. Copies of the same were being prepared and the opinion would be tabled before the House on April 21.
