Metal prices up on heavy industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Metal prices today rose on heavy industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange here said.
In ferrous section, copper heavy prices rose by Rs 500 per quintal while that of copper utensils and aluminium utensils went up by Rs 300 each per quintal, on reduced stock supply.
In non-ferrous section, the rates of copper wire bars shot up by Rs 2,000 per quintal, while that of zinc slab and aluminium ingots increased by Rs 500 and Rs 150 per quintal, respectively, on increase of fresh demand.
The prices of tin slab and nickel cathode went up by Rs five and Rs 12 per kg, respectively, on higher advice.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 35,300, copper utensils- Rs 31,800, brass utensils- Rs 24,000, brass cuttings- Rs 25,000 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,500.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 37,500, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,250, zinc slab- Rs 18,000, lead ingots- Rs 6,600, Tin slab- Rs 510 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 932 (per kg).
