mcx comdex at all time high of 25,65 pts

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange COMDEX closed at an all time high of 2336.46 up by 25.65 points (1.10 per cent) today.

MCX has recorded a turnover of Rs 7,270.31 crores.

The MCX Metal Index was up by 66.75 points (2.42 per cendt), and MCX Agri Index was up 12.65 points (0.81 per cent). MCX Energy Index was a marginal loser down by 2.46 points (0.09 per cent).

The combined MCX Bullion registered a turnover of Rs 6,061.89 crore, including various MCX Gold Rs 2,544.59 crore and MCX silver Rs 3,517.30 crore. Silver continued to touch historic highs. Silver May closed at Rs 21,565 up Rs 730 (3.39 per cent), silver July closed at Rs 21,881 up Rs 683 (3.12 per cent) and silver September closed at Rs 22,214 up Rs 1,000 (4.50 per cent).

The total no of trades recorded for the MCX Bullion were 64,686.

The open interest for Gold was 13,846 kgs. while the outstanding position for silver was 5,00,870 kgs. In the metals segment aluminum (April six) was the top loser with a fall of Rs 8.25 (-6.17 per cent), registering 961 trades and a turnover of Rs 37.14 crore and an outstanding position of Rs 1,018 MT, while MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 335.33 crore with 8,152 trades.

In the energy segment, crude Oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 159.55 crore with open interest of 5,76,000 barrel.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - Urad registered a turnover of Rs 84.61 crore, with 2,137 trades. Masur registered a turnover of Rs 14.32 crore, with 333 trades. Tur was a major loser and recorded a turnover of Rs 6.71 crores, with 184 trades. Channa registered a turnover of Rs 39.57 crore, with 1,323 trades.

Some of the other major commodities traded on MCX registered the following turnover. Potato recorded a turnover of Rs 37.94 crore, with 1420 trades. Mentha Oil registered a turnover of Rs 43.97 crore, with 2,153 trades.
