Mahindra's Logan to hit market by 2007 end
Kolkata,Apr 19 (UNI) Mahindra Renault Limited, a 51:49 joint venture between Mahindra&Mahindra (M&M) and Renault SA of France, would launch Logan, a mid-sized car, by late 2007 marking the company's foray into passenger car segment.
The car would be positioned in B or C segment in the market, M&M officials said.
The pricing of the model was yet to be fixed.
Officials said further rollout of Renault models would depend on the success of Logan.
M&M is a dominant player in the utility vehicle (UV) and light commercial vehicles segment in India.
M&M had earlier entered into an 5 million JV arrangement with Renault for supplying petrol engines as an OE manufacturer.
Launching the New Scorpio targeting the upwardly mobile segment of society, M&M's vice-president (marketing) Vivek Nayer said the company was aiming to garner higher market share through sale of the new Scorpio.
