Lokayukta traps corrupt official

Madikeri Apr 19 (UNI) The Lokayukta today trapped an official of the Backward Community and Minority Development Board here when he was receiving a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a man for showing official favour.

Lokayukta Inspector B P Srinivas from Mysore and Jayaram from Madikeri caught Board district Manager Channigarayappa red-handed when he was taking the money from a contractor, Raghavaiah, for sanctioning a borewell to his place under the Ganga Kalyana Yojane.

The official already faced similar charges while working at Chitradurga and Mangalore offices.
