Vijayawada, Apr 19: Krishna District boys and girls stood first by registering the highest percentage of 69.52 per cent in the intermediate first year examination, results for which were announced at Hyderabad today.
An official in the Intermediate Board of Education told UNI here that the total pass percentage of boys and girls who appeared for the examination in the state was 53.62 per cent. Adilabad district boys and girls came last with a percentage of 36.03.
He said out of 42,349 candidates who appeared for the general course examination in the district, 29,440 candidates passed and in vocational courses, out of 1,176 candidates, 743 cleared the exam, at a rate of 63.18 per cent.
The official said for the third time in a row, girls fared better then boys across the state.
The percentage of girls who passed in the state was 57.66 where as for boys, it stood at 50.62 per cent, the official added.
The advance supplementary examination for failed candidates was likely to be held on May 24.
