K P Ernest named High Commissioner to New Zealand replacing Dogra
New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) Mr K P Ernest, a 1975 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been named India's next High Commissioner to New Zealand replacing Mr Harish Dogra who was ''recalled'' after his recent spat with Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran.
Making the announcement here today, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said Mr Ernest, currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, is expected to take charge shortly.
The decision of the Indian government had been intimated to the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi as well as the authorities in Wellington, the spokesman added.
