Japanese tourist raped in Pushkar
Ajmer, Apr 19: A Japanese tourist has accused a hotel manager in Pushkar of raping and cheating her.
The Japanese woman Yoko faxed a message to police superintendent in Ajmer from Agra yesterday accusing the hotel manager Babloo of rape.
The police lodged an FIR against Babloo and four other accused and have sent a team to Agra for further investigation.
Police Deputy Superintendent (Rural) Sharad Choudhary said the tourist landed in Pushkar on April 1 where she met two youths -- Sanjay Raju and Shahid -- who promised to take her to a good guest house.
On reaching the guest house, manager Babloo took over her Rs 54,000 and said it will be safe in the custody of her mother Roshni, who is reportedly a Congress leader.
The next day Babloo organised a party at the guest house where he offered her 'lassi', laced with intoxicants, which made her unconscious. Then Babloo allegedly raped her. The next day she managed to escape to Agra.
The police said they have not arrested anybody yet.
The police will question the Japanese woman further and then initiate other steps, Mr Choudhary said.
