Written by: Staff

Agra, Apr 19: Under fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party over the recent communal flare-up in Aligarh city of Uttar Pradesh, Inspector General of Police (Kanpur Zone) Rizwan Ahmad has conceded that lack of timely police action was responsible for the violence in the city famous for its locks.

Interacting with newspersons here last evening, Mr Ahmad said that 'inactive' and tainted cops will not be tolerated and punitive action will be taken against them.

Mr Ahmad also assured that the dreaded Jagjiwan gang will soon be eliminated.
