HC dismisses Gote petition challenging MCOCA
Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Bombay High Court today dismissed a petition, filed by former Maharashtra MLA and an accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper Anil Gote, challenging the application of MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against him.
A division bench comprising Justices B H Marlapalle and Dilip Bhosle, while dismissing the plea, held that action against the petitioner under the MCOCA act was justified.
However, the high court directed the designated trial court at Pune expedite Gote's trial by conducting hearing on a day-to-day basis.
The high court had yesterday reserved its order for today after the conclusion of the arguments by the defence and the prosecution.
