Govt proposes directory for mobile subscribers
New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) The government is considering a proposal whereby all telecom operators will be asked to come out with a directory for their subscribers.
''We are looking at the possibility of a directory for the post-paid mobile subscribers,'' Telecom Secretary J S Sarma, said here today.
Phone connections in India have just crossed the 100-million mark, signifying that over nine in 100 Indians have a phone.
The tally at the 100-million mark is expected to be 54 million mobile phones and 46 million landlines.
