Government brings security personnel insurence cover

Ranchi, Apr 19 (UNI) The Jharkhand government has brought the security personnel, who are involved anti-naxalite operation in the state under the cover of insurance.

The insurance cover will cover all the security personnel, including state police, para-military forces and army personnel.

The state government has entered into an agreement with the United Insurence Company, The Oriental Insurence Company and The New India Insurence Company yesterday.

Home minister Sudeh Mahato handed over a cheque of Rs 2.47 crore to Mr Rakesh Kumar chief regional manager of the Oriental Insurence company as a premimum for 2006-2007 at function here.

Mr Kumar has accepted the cheque on behalf of the insurance companies.

The home minister also handed over anti-mine vehicles to the superintendent of police of naxal affected districts.
