Five killed, 9 injured in road accidents
Rajkot, Apr 19 (UNI) Five people including three children died and nine injured in two separate road accidents in Jamnagar district.
According to police, a minor boy and a police constable died and six others sustained injuries when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near Gunda village in Jamnagar yesterday.
The passengers of the ill-fated vehicle were returning to Bhanvad after attending a religious function in Varvala village when the incident took place, police said.
The deceased have been identified as - Jusab Sumar (12) and B A Munshi. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Jamnagar.
In another incident, three children died and three people were injured when a sand-laden tractor carrying them overturned while negotiating a sharp turn near Modpur village on Jamnagar-Khambhaliya highway last evening.
The dead children were identified Deepak Ramesh (3), Rahul Appu (3) and Divan Ramesh (2), police said and added that the injured are recuperating at a Jamnagar hospital.
