Extension officer arrested on bribery charges

Hyderabad, Apr 19 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Pilli Meghamala (28), Extension Officer, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, MP Luxettipet, Adilabad district at her office.

She demanded and accepted Rs 700 as bribe from the complainant to delive the cheque worth Rs 8,820, pertaining to the repairs of drainage works executed by the complainant sanctioned under XIth Finance Commissioner funds.

Both hands of the accused was tested positive to chemical test.

Tainted sum of Rs 700 was recovered at the instance of AO from the officce table.

She will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, a release from ACB said.
