Drag race in Bangalore from April 22

Bangalore, Apr 19 (UNI) Narain Karthikeyan would be the star attraction at Speed Run 2006, the country's best-known drag event for cars and bikes, which will be held at the Jakkur Air fields here on April 22 and 23.

Popular all over the world, especially in the US, the event would be held here in conformity with the Federation of International Association of Automobiles and Federation of International Association of Motor cycles (FIAA) norms for similar sporting events.

Speed Run 2006 includes several categories for Indian and foreign bikes and cars. Classification for Indian bikes included bikes from 81 cc to 110 cc, 111-150 cc, 261-360 cc, 81 to 110 cc (4-stroke), 111-160 cc (4-stroke), 161-250 cc (4-stroke), 350 cc and above, and the Indian open class. For foreign bikes, the classification of bikes is up to 500 cc, 501-750 cc, 751 cc and above and Foreign Open, an organisers' release said.
