Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Vasant Davkhare today directed the government to transfer Ulhasnagar Municipal Commissioner D S Patil by tomorrow.

Giving the directions during the calling attention notice moved by Kanhaiyalal Gidwani (Sena), Mr Davkhare described the officer as 'most incompetent.' He also asked the government to arrest all the guilty officers involved in illegal construction within seven days.

Earlier, replying to the demand of renaming Ulhasnagar as Sindhunagar, Minister of State for Urban Development Rajesh Tope said that the central government has the authority to rename any city.

He said the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation should first pass the resolution of renaming the city as Sindhunagar and send it to the state government.
