Chikun gunya affects AP Dist

Tirupati, Apr 19 (UNI) As many as 4,012 people in 37 villages and four urban areas in Chittor District have been affected with 'Chikun gunya' (a kind of viral fever) since January, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister K Rosaiah said here today.

Addressing a press conference, the Minister said the viral fever, which was not fatal, affected the Rayalaseem region, including Chittoor District.

The Minister said the Centre had deputed a health team to the district to study the disease.
