Chandigarh Horse Show from April 23
Chandigarh, Apr 19 (UNI) Western Command Headquarters based Shivalik Riding and Pony Club (SRPC) is organising the Chandigarh Horse Show from April 23 to 30 at the Railway Territorial Ground here.
Maj Gen G S Dillon of the Army Supply Corp (ASC) told mediapersons today that the Show, approved by Equestrian Federation of India (EFI), would showcase the skills of all local equestrian outfits such as the Services, Para Military Forces, State police, schools and riding clubs from all over the country.
He said the show includes Asian show jumping challenge and national show jumping championships besides, Tent Pegging, Jumping and other events in senior, junior, young riders and children categories.
The Maj Gen informed that the show is being sponsored by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Toyota India has also come forward to organise the show.
He said that the show also includes miscellaneous events like trick riding, dog display, best stallion or best mare and dancing horse display.
For the show approximately 300 horses and 40 teams are likely to participate, he added.
Maj Gen Dillon said, ''Besides providing an opportunity for local talent to exhibit their horsemanship skills, we alos intend to identify medal prospects for the 'Project Olympics 2008' to be played at Beijing.'' UNI DP AY HT1755
