Chandigarh, Apr 19 (UNI) The Haryana Tourism Department has evolved a new scheme of providing banquet hall facility in its tourist complexes at economical rates in the state.

The new scheme, besides generating revenue for the tourist complexes, would go a long way in providing people with better opportunities and venues for organising public functions and celebrations, Minister of State for Tourism, Mrs Kiran Choudhary said. Under the scheme, a huge banquet hall would soon be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh in Baya Tourist Complex in Bhiwani city of the state, she said. The banquet hall would be completed within a year.

Mrs Choudhary said that private banquet halls were flourishing all around in small towns and cities. These halls were charging large amounts of money for organising functions.

She said the Government was aiming at developing such facilities at tourist complexes which would help people in organising public functions at very economical rates.

Mrs Choudhary maintained that the Government would lay due emphasis on the development of tourism to generate direct and indirect employment for the unemployed youth of the state.

She said that eco-tourism would be developed along side the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal highway. More public-private participation would be sought for promoting farm tourism, mall tourism, golf tourism, religious tourism, cultural tourism and adventure tourism in the state, she added.

The Minister said that a new tourism policy would be formulated by the Government.
