371 shops sealed on 14th day, operation complete in city

New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI) The operation for sealing of shops in residential areas was completed in the city zone even as the MCD today put 371 shops to seal.

The maximum number of 91 shops were sealed in Civil Lines, 57 in Karol Bagh, 67 in Shahdara (South) and 46 in central zone.

At the same time, the MCD de-sealed 218 shops - 67 in Civil Lines, 52 in Karol Bagh, 40 in Shahdara(Nouth), 35 in Shahdara (South) and 22 in Central zone.

With today's sealing, a total of 5135 shops in the residential areas have been sealed since the operation began on March 29.

A total of 1065 shops have been de-sealed till date.

In the meanwhile, the five-day protest Dharna of Delhi traders on sealing of shops issue, entered its third day today with hundreds of trade leaders belonging to more than 40 trade bodies participating.

Traders were joined in their protests by BJP MP Vijay Kumar Malhotra, MLA S P Ratawal and Moti Lal Sodhi.
