3 arrested for theft; 7 vehicles seized

Kolhapur, Apr 19 (UNI) The local crime branch today arrested three persons in connection with vehicle theft near Uchagaon at the outskirts of the city and seized seven vehicles from them.

On a tip-off, the police laid a trap at Rahi Hotel near Uchagaon where the accused had arrived to transact the sale of a vehicle and arrested them, police said.

The arrested individuals have confessed to the crime, police added, and said that the trio would often steal vehicles and sell them.

Four motor bikes, and three cars have been recovered from them, police said.

The arrested have been identified as Vishal Jadhav (24), Uday Pavale (36), Pravin Patil (26), all hailing from Jawaharnagar in the city.

The local court later remanded them to six days in police custody, police added.
