Vishal exports to survey 5.6 MW Nandakini hydro-power project

Mumbai, Apr 18 (UNI) Trading house Vishal Exports Overseas has signed a project development agreement with the Uttarancahl Government for carrying out a detailed investigation and confirmatory surveys for 5.6 MW Nandakini III hydro power project in the State.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 20.20 crore and the estimated generation is 34 million units annually.

The project shall comprise of two units of 2.8 MW capacity each and shall be made operational in four years.

It has been allotted for a period of 40 years and is located on the river Nandakini, in Chamoli District of Uttaranchal.

The company has already commissioned a small hydro power project in Shimla District last year, which is fully operational now.

It is also implementing two MW Jakhi small hydro power project in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore. This project will be made operational in about two years.

The company is also an active player in wind power and has set up an aggregate of 30.45 MW in wind farms located in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. It is presently implementing 10 MW wind farm in Tamil Nadu, which is a part of its new expansion of 100 MW in wind farm to be set up during 2006-07.
