Uma to announce new party at Ujjain on Apr 30

Jaunpur, Apr 18: Expelled BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti will announce her new party on April 30 at Ujjain instead of Varanasi.

This was informed by senior BJP leader and former union minister Swami Chinmayanand -- who is a trusted aide of Ms Bharti.

''Ujjain is the holy place of Lord Mahakaleshwar and April 30 is a pious occasion of 'Akshay Tritiya'. Therefore, she has decided to announce her new party at Ujjain,'' he told sources here today.

Mr Chinmayanand informed the 'sadhvi' would arrive in Varanasi on May 3 and leave for Ayodhya via Jaunpur after seeking the blessings of Baba Vishwanath.

Talking to newspersons yesterday, the Swami had claimed Uma was getting the support of several parties and leaders after her expulsion from the BJP.

''She has the support of Madan Lal Khurana in Delhi, Om Prakash Chautala in Haryana, Prakash Singh Badal in Punjab, Sone Lal Patel in Uttar Pradesh, Sukhlal Kushwaha in Madhya Pradesh among others,'' the former union minister had disclosed.
