Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) The City Civil and Sessions court Principal Judge R R Wachha has transferred some high-profile cases which involved close associates of underworld don Chhota Rajan, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) case and D K Rao case, from MCOCA court presided by Judge Ashok Bhangale to another MCOCA court at Mazgaon in south-central Mumbai.

Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Judge Ashok Bhangale had recently submitted all details of cases booked under the stringent Act and the cases were pending in the court to Principal Judge Wachha.

Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian today confirmed that Judge Wachha had transferred several cases including the JNPT) in which police had seized over 1,200 rounds of live cartridges from Chhota Rajan associate Vicky Malhotra and the case involving another member of Chhota Rajan gang D K Rao to another MCOCA court headed by Additional Sessions court Judge Abhay Thipsay.

Trials of these cases will be conducted at the Mazgaon court, Mr Salian added.

Mr Thipsay, who presided over the recently concluded Best Bakery case, has only five MCOCA cases pending in his court.
