Court adjourns hearing in Imrana case till Apr 22
Muzaffarnagar, Apr 17 (UNI) The District Court here today adjourned hearing in the Imrana case to April 22.
Assistant District Public Prosecutor Raunak Ali Zaidi said here that District Judge Ranjamni Chauhan fixed the next hearing in the case for April 22, after the defence failed to make arrangements to show a CD, which it claims contains Imrana's deposition before Milli Council that she was not raped by father-in-law Ali Mohammed.
Imrana, a resident of Charthwal village, was allegedly raped by father-in-law Ali Mohammed in June last. The matter came to light before the caste Panchayat, which while holding Ali Mohammed guilty for rape, also annulled Imrana's marriage with Noor Elahi, saying she was like his mother now.
Ali Mohammed is presently in jail and and his bail has been rejected by the High Court.
Meanwhile, Imrana, a mother of five, stuck to her stand of being raped by Ali Mohammed and claimed that the CD was ''faked.'' UNI XC-ARS VD RAI1730
