2 women charred to death in NW Delhi fire

New Delhi, Apr 17: Two women were charred to death in a fire in a slum cluster in North West Delhi early this morning.

Fire Department officials said Ahilaya (60) and Zarina (22) were killed in the fire that broke out at around 0137 hrs in Balaswar slum near Jehangirpuri area.

The officials said a person, Kasur Ali, sustained minor injuries.

They said around 25 shacks were destroyed in the blaze.

The fire was controlled in about 30 minutes by 20 fire tenders.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
