Tension as Vijaykanth files papers; 10 AIADMKmen injured

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Apr 17 (UNI) At least ten volunteers of the ruling AIADMK were injured today when police used mild lathicharge to disperse them from the RDO office at Vridhdhachalam where actor Vijayakanth filed his nomination to contest the May eight Assembly elections.

Tension prevailed when the police restrained the supporters of AIADMK candidate P R Kasinathan from barging into the RDO office as Mr Vijaykanth, who was inside, was yet to complete the process of filing his papers.

Following heated arguments, the police used mild lathicharge to disperse them from the place. At least, ten people were injured, sources added.
