Russia denies transfer of S-300 missiles to Iran
Moscow, Apr 17 (UNI) Russia today denied US media reports that S-300 missile systems to be supplied to Belarus, would be transferred to Iran.
Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement that four battalions of S-300 PMU2 Favourite missile systems would be supplied to Belarus this year under agreements on merging the two countries' air defences.
''Under the current agreement, missile systems cannot be supplied to a third country by Belarus to deploy Russian S-300 missiles,'' RIA Novosti reported quoting the Russian Air Force.
Earlier, the Air Force Commander General Vladimir Mikhailov said that S-300 missiles will be deployed no later than June or early July.
