NDTV announces 2.01 cr profit for FY06 Q4

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) New Delhi Television (NDTV) today announced a net profit of Rs 2.01 crore for the quarter ending March 2006 alongwith a dividend of 20 per cent for the financial year ending March 2006.

It posted a 41.73 per cent hike in revenues at Rs 70.44 crore as against 49.70 crore for the same period last year.

For the year ending March 31, 2006, the company reported a profit of Rs 27.53 crore and a 24.49 per cent growth in revenues at Rs 223.90 crore as compared to Rs 179.8 crore for the same period last year.

''In this year, the company has put in significant investments into building new businesses and going forward we are committed to maximising shareholder value by capitalizing on these investments,'' NDTV Chairman Prannoy Roy said.

NDTV has extended its global presence across 4 continents -- Africa, Asia, Europe and the US, and entered into strategic tie-ups with DirecTV, BskyB and ATN to launch NDTV 24x7 in the US, UK and Canada respectively.
