International fake currency racket busted in UP capital
Lucknow, Apr 17 (UNI) The Lucknow police today claimed to have busted a counterfeit currency racket with the arrest of a man possessing fake currency totalling Rs 1.25 lakh from the Naka area here.
Police said acting on a tip-off, they arrested Govind Agrawal, hailing from Hanumangadh district of Rajasthan, with the counterfiet currency in the denomination of thousand, five hundred and hundred rupee notes.
Agrawal, who owns a shop in the Krishnanagar locality here has also lived recently in Nepal and was arrested in the past for smuggling by Custome officials, police added.
Search was on for the other members.
