Illegal miners injure five policemen, police jeep damaged

Bokaro, Apr 17 (UNI) At least five police personnel were injured and a police jeep was damaged by illegal coal miners near Mandirsthan area under Mahuatand police station here today, police said.

A large number of coal pilferers digging coal from the abandoned and running mines of public sector coal companies BCCL and CCL along with some villagers attacked the Bermo police team which had gone there to conduct raids.

Five policemen were injured in stone pelting. Additional force had been rushed to the spot but no arrests have been reported so far, sources said.
