Female foeticide: Rajasthan needs to wake up soon, says Tara
Jaipur, Apr 17 (UNI) Rajasthan needs to wake up soon as the increasing number of female foeticide cases is creating an imbalance in society which will be hard to rectify in the future, according to the state Women Commission new chairperson Tara Bhandari.
The state witnesses one of the highest number of atrocity cases against women.
Mrs Bhandari, who has been a BJP legislator from Sirohi twice, today said the Commission will work to co-ordinate between the different sections of women and make them aware that they are not alone in their fight against any atrocity.
On going against the BJP government if the need arises in many case, she told UNI that the BJP government's priority being welfare, why would there be any need to go against the government.
She said a culprit is a culprit and the Commission believes there should be no bias towards him irrespective of his political affiliations.
She said the State Women Commission has no fixed framework to empower the weaker sex.
She preferred to keep mum on the frequent political appointees to this coveted post.
Mrs Bhandari, however, failed to say what steps will the Commission take to implement the High Court order against obscene exposure of women at public places.
She said if women are forced to expose in any form, only then will they take steps to stop it.
