Family of arrested Dawood's cook await his return
Bahraich, Apr 17 (UNI) The family of Mohd Jibrail Khan -- the cook of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim -- was keenly awaiting his return even as he was arrested on April 11 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
According to Jibrail's wife Sakina, he was coming to his native Parpatganj village under Risia area, about 51 kms from Bahraich town in Uttar Pradesh.
''My husband was arrested, while he was coming back to his blind father and brother, ailing wife and children,'' Sakina added.
She claimed the family was facing acute financial hardships and Jibrail was home-bound to provide succour to his kin.
Majority of the villagers work in Mumbai to eke out a living.
Jibrail too went there for a livelihood leaving behind his wife and children.
Locals told UNI, in the meantime Sakina contacted tuberculosis, while there was no financial support to the family.
''I had talked to my husband a few days back...he had assured medical treatment to me,'' Sakina reminisced.
Meanwhile, police superintendent Vijay Kumar Garg maintain that Jibaril had no criminal record at the Risia police station.
Investigations were continuing.
