Exquisite jewellery to be showcased in "Zak exhibition"
Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Some of the most exquisite creations of jewellery in Gold, Platinum, white gold, diamonds, silver, gems and pearls would be showcased in the 68th "Zak Jewels 2005", a great Jewellery Show to be held here from April 21-23.
Addressing a press conference here, Syed Zakir Ahmed, Director Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, which organise the event, said that the three day show was expected to generate business to the tune of about Rs four crore, against last year's business of Rs two crore.
Mr Ahmed said 48 direct manufacturers and jewellers of repute from Kokata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai and designers from Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and other places, would unveil their latest range of exquisitely crafted master pieces in the show.
The range of display would be bridal collection, traditional collection, antique collection, all occasion collection, gift collection, casual collection, contemporary and kids collections, he said adding they included necklaces, bangles, full and half sets, pendants and designer jewellery.
In all, there would be more than one lakh designs on display and the prices ranged from Rs 2000 to Rs 20 lakhs, he said. Besides the traditional yellow gold, white gold and platinum with diamonds would be the added attractions in the show.
Mr Ahmed said with white being the colour of this year's "Akshaya Thritiya" a spurt in the sale of white gold and platinum was expected this year. Already there was a sudden shift with people, especially younger generation, preferring white gold and platinum for traditional yellow gold, he added.
