CPI(Maoist) announces bandh in Garwah and Chhattisgarh
Garwah, Apr 17: The proscribed CPI(Maoist) announced a dawn-to-dusk bandh in Jharkhand's Garwah district and Chhattisgarh tomorrow to protest the killing of a zonal commander and his wife by police, allegedly in a fake encounter on April 14.
In a statement, the Maoist border committee said they would also observe 'Martyrs' week from April 23 in Garwah and Chhattisgarh.
During the week they would attack government property and employees. However, they would not affect the normal life and general people, it added.
They alleged that police of Balrampur station in Chhattisgarh had arrested their zonel commander Samarjee and his wife Kiranjee and shot them dead in a fake encounter in a nearby jungle.
