Cong MLC takes charge of Legislative Council Chairman

Patna, Apr 17 (UNI) An opposition Congress member Professor Arun Kumar today took the charge of the acting chairman of Bihar Legislative Council.

State parliamentary affairs minister Ramashryaya Prasad Singh, Leader of ruling party the Legislative Council Ganga Prasad, Leader of Opposition in the house Ramnandan Singh and other members were present on this occasion.

Professor Arun Kumar replaces Prof Jabir Hussain, who resigned as council chairman yesterday after his election in the recently concluded Rajya Sabha election on RJD ticket.

Mr Kumar represents the Gaya (teachers constituency) since 1970 and is presently member of the upper house of the state legislature.
