Bhupen Hazarika hospitalised with leg pain

Guwahati, Apr 17 (UNI) Noted singer and Dada Saheb Phalke awardee Bhupen Hazarika was admitted in a local hospital here last night after complaining of pain in his leg.

Mr Hazarika was performing at a Bihutoli in Noonmati area of the city when he developed a pain in the leg and was rushed to the nearby Noonmati refinery hospital.

After preliminary treatment, he was shifted to Guwahati GNR centre where he was put in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Attending doctors said the condition of Mr Hazarika was stable now.

Thousands of fans and well wishers have gathered at the hospital to enquire about their hero.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also visited the hospital and enquired after his health and prayed for his speedy recovery.
