Woman elected Mau district panchayat

Mau, Apr 16: Samajwadi Party-supported candidate Ansa Yadav has been declared elected as Mau district panchayat chairperson.

Of the 30 votes polled, 29 went in favour of Ms Yadav. One vote was declared invalid.

The elections, held yesterday, had earlier been postponed following the communal riots here in October last year.
