UP Police seize evidence from house of Dawood's cook
Lucknow, Apr 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police has found clinching evidence from the residence of Mohd Jibreel Khan, the cook of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The police is also searching for the present residential address of Dawood in Karachi and had already made inroads in finding some evidence to this effect.
The state police yesterday raided Jibreel's residence at Parpatganj village, 51 km from Bahraich town.
Police claimed that they succeeded in collecting several incriminating documents from the village including Jibreel's telephone number and calls made to this phone from foreign countries.
The 42-year-old cook of Dawood and his brother Anees Ibrahim was arrested on the night of April 12 by the Delhi Police. Earlier, a wanted notice was issued against him in 1999.
An Hepatitis B patient, Jibreel was kept in a Delhi hospital for two days before being interrogated. He reportedly told the police that Dawood lived in Karachi.
The police said some documents in his house were burnt in an attempt to destroy clues to his links with Dawood. However, the telephone related records on his residence phone and the old telephone bills were intact.
The bills are now expected to show how often Jibreel used to call the family and from where.
Denying that Jabreel had any criminal record, Bahraich Senior Superintendent of police (SSP) Vijay Kumar Garg said after searching the record no crime was found registered against him.
The SSP said Jibreel's family were small farmers in the village and owned three bighas of land.
His elder brother and father were blind, while the younger brother lived separately. Jabreel's wife, elder brother and father used to live in the village.
''The police would certainly investigate how he built a huge house in the village with scanty income from agriculture,'' police sources maintained.
