Two killed, five injured in road accident

Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh Apr 16 (UNI) Two women were killed and five others injured seriously in a road accident near Serinenipalem under Veeravalli police station limits on Kolkata-Chennai National Higway in Krishna district last night.

Police said the mishap occurred when seven members were returning in a bullockcart to their native village in West Godavari district, following darshan of diety Rangammaperantalu at Telaprolu, a truck hit the bullockcart on its back side.

The injured were admitted to a private hospital at Eluru.

A case has been registered and an investigation was, underway, police added.
