Two arrested for possession of ganja

Akola, Apr 16 (UNI) Two persons were arrested for allegedly possessing ganja on the national highway near Malkapur tehsil bordering Buldhana district.

Police today said the two have been identified as Pratapsingh Jamode, a truck driver, and his accomplice Ladlabai Chavan also from the same village.

They were presented before the magistrate who remanded them to custody till April 18 for possessing 62 kg of ganja.

The truck was intercepted yesterday on the national highway and 62 kg ganja was recovered from them. A case has been registered against the duo under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, police added.
