Polls will make UPA Govt adopt pro-people attitude: Yechuri
Kottayam, Apr 16 (UNI) The Assembly elections have great significance in national politics as they will help exert pressure on the UPA Government to implement the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) and force it to adopt more pro-people attitude, CPI(M) Polit bureau Member Sitaram Yechuri today said.
Addressing a meet-the press programme here, Mr Yechuri said the Left Front was going to create history in West Bengal by winning for the seventh consecutive time. In Kerala, people wanted change and desired the LDF to assume power.
Referring to the Chief Ministerial candidate, Mr Yechuri said the CPI (M) had no tradition of naming the Chief Minister before elections.
In a Parliamentary democracy, he should be elected after elections, Mr Yechuri said.
