Inmates of Dehradun jail to be made literate

Dehra dun, Apr 16 (UNI) Over 100 inmates of Dehradun Jail will be provided basic literacy classes, Uttaranchal Education Minister Narendra Singh Bhandari said.

Inaugurating the programme at District jail premises yesterday, Mr Bhandari said the literacy effort should be replicated in all jails across the country.

He said the programme will help in bringing the inmates into the mainstream of the society.

The programme is being held under the State Resource Centre, Uttaranchal under the aegis of National Literacy Mission.
